Hmmm, makes me wonder. Around here in the summertime those things (or something like them) are in the trees and are SOOOO LOUD it's insane (since there's like a hundred thousand per tree). Can you imagine? 100,000 bugs in each tree and all of them with tiny artificial heart valves!! Does...
Congrats!!!!
I've kind of started a tradition here lately (by me anyways) of posting this video to welcome newcomers to "our club" - a song for you by Joe Walsh!!
I don't remember all the details about other folks that experienced the awful nightmares but I know for myself it started right away rather than kicked in after a couple days/week/months. It might be that your body just isn't affected that way period. Also I wondered if my being on a proton...
I suppose the answer to your question depends upon whether the reader is:
(1) A Citizen
(2) A Civilian
or...
(3) A Bug (!)
Sorry, couldn't resist. Love that movie. Cool enough to have humans fighting a bloody war against a race of bugs but add in the perfect satirical skewing of over...
My first week or so I literally ROLLED out of bed. Had to kind of rock back & forth till my momentum had me going in the right direction with feet swinging over towards the floor.
I especially remember my first night home. I was in bed and needed to get up to go to the bathroom. My eldest...
I don't think you can go by others' experience on this question. Seems like there are other factors at play in how loud your valve might sound to YOU. I have an On-x and have never heard a peep from it. Others say theirs is so loud it drives them crazy.
Great news.
Listen to this song by the guy in my avatar:
So chill out, nothing to worry 'bout! Sounds like yer good to go for another 40 years (or even more, "Who" knows)! Congrats.
P.S. And does this mean you can wean off your med cocktail?
Yeah, 25mg was way too much for me. I think I decribed my being on it as feeling like I was on a planet with a gravitational pull 100x that of Earth, along with being given knockout drops making me only be able to sleep all the time. I like your description as being sat on by a fat person! I...
Her ending is sad for sure. But she burned very brightly for years and was once one of the most popular TV/film "stars" in the world. Count me as one of the millions that had her red swimsuit poster hanging up (in my dorm room in college). Wasn't that even hanging up on a wall in the...
Congrats on joining the bionic club!!
You are now worth $6 million bucks, like this guy (& the rest of us):
Did Oscar Goldman come visit you in the hospital yet?
I guess the way I'm looking at it now is that for about $125 I just bought enough strips to last me almost 6 months (WAIT - that will be enough for about a year right? I'm half asleep and can't think straight) if I just go to testing twice a month/every other week or so instead of weekly...
I took a look at WIlburn, Selfcaredepot, and Reliaston.
Wilburn has something about requiring an "Acknowledgement Agreement" needed to order (whatever that is). Probably no big deal but I have no idea. $149 for pack of 24 strips.
Selfcaredepot has price of $129.95 for 24.
Reliaston is the...
I remember one of the hassles with that was that the syringes are prefilled with a certain dosage, yet for my weight I was only supposed to inject a lesser amount. So I had to expel some of the dose b4 injecting, also eyeballing that, trying to do the injection part etc etc, was all...
I think deciding on which manufacturer of the heart valve to go with is best left to the surgeon's preference, what he himself has experience with/what he prefers. Unless he brings it up to you giving you a choice/options.
That being said it is probably 6 of one and 6 dozen of the other...
Not saying this has anything to do with your breathlessness on exertion but I had that REAL bad (just walking up steps) starting a few months prior to suffering a major heart attack - which led to my OHS. Turned out I had a major coronary artery blocked 90% plus BAV with "moderate" calcification...
Spanky & the gang says you'll be fine!
Once that fun part is over rest up and post back here when yer able with a big Buckwheat "O-TAY" thumbs up to let us know how you are.
What comes next (your recovery) is a process we've all been through and this forum should be a help with that too.
