4 weeks ago today I had my bav replaced with a mechanical valve and had my ascending aorta aneurysm repaired. I am 63yrs old and the surgeon would have done a tissue valve but he was happy that I choose the mechanical valve. As far as long term survival who knows, but the valve will likely last...

Finally been home a couple of days. My release got delayed a day because of rhythm and rate issues electrolytes and meds have it under control. Now to heal quietly and a regular INR check last one was 2.3 steady with 4mg until Tuesday’s test.

To begin with a lab will do bloodwork, I expect to get my own tester.

Well looks like I’m on the way home tomorrow. Home will be nice less commotion, familiar bed and good cooking. INR hovering around 2.5 will likely require some close monitoring for a while.

Not sure, they were applied previously.

I had a little setback, was coughing and felt lightheaded and reached for the bed for support well the wheel brakes were off an it slid off and I had a face plant on the floor. CT scan says all good.

Script required in Canada, l believe for health care reimbursement. Seems like they can be purchased without.

Well here I am on the other side, out of intensive care.

They admitted you 7 days ahead of your scheduled surgery date? Yes, because of symptoms increased short of breath, chest tightness and (unofficially)Being an inpatient reduces the chance of getting bumped.

I just got a new surgery date Feb 14th 1st case in the morning. They took me for an X-ray of my head/teeth this morning hopefully things are starting to come together.

Well the hospital called yesterday and wanted me to come in, today I made the trek to Winnipeg and got admitted to the cardiac ward hopefully this will fast track my surgery.

I have had a yamaha tw 200 for a few years it’s ideal around the farm/ranch, but to go to town its not ideal anything above 50mph it seems to want to jump out of its skin.

I did see one but it was tucked a way in the corner of the showroom, could hardly get close enough to touch it never mind throwing a leg over it. They will all be subject to a test ride and that could be 3-4 months away still have a lot of winter to go here.

Well we drove to the big smoke(Winnipeg) yesterday at about hour 4 of a 4.5hr drive the cell phone comes to life and I am canceled again #3 so we spent the night in a decent hotel(too late to cancel reservation) and today I did some motorcycle shopping. I think I have it down to a Kawasaki...

The third time is the charm. Got the call Jan 31st new operation date.

Hope you get a date soon, I’ve been in the system approximately 8 weeks have had two operation dates both have been cancelled/postponed.

Early on I elected to go with any surgeon to speed up the wait time as the surgeon I was assigned to does ohs plus minimally invasive that keeps him quite busy. Turns out that my assigned surgeon wants to do my surgery himself so here I sit.

Postponed again! At least I was still at home, it’s a 4.5hr drive to the hospital and was able to cancel hotel reservation.
