Heavy meds and me don't get along very well.....I had a morning surgery and was able to get the vent tube out later that day, but was otherwise non-functional until the next morning.

Marty, thanks for the interesting Robby Benson story. I also know somebody in my community who had a Ross procedure and she isn't very happy with it. She now has a Mechanical valve.

Don't freak out yet. Can you get a copy of your echo report? Maybe he is referring to your Gradient reading ? Also, look for your EF (ejection fraction) percentage. It's always good to have your own copies of these reports.

Anticoag meds don't bother me at all; having a Coaguchek XS home monitor makes testing a piece of cake. And my 7 day pillbox ensures that i don't forget or double up a dose. My diet hasn't changed because I eat very sensibly as far as daily greens and veggies (LOVE them).

I just can't believe that this has happened....."RossMan" was my ray of light after surgery when I saw nothing but darkness around me. He sure did have a heart of gold and an immense knowledge of cardiac issues that he so freely shared. Condolences to your family, RIP.

It is very normal for your INR to fluctuate somewhat which is why we have a target "range".... Usually 2.0---3.0 or 2.5----3.5 Your INR of 3.3 is actually just fine, and it is NEVER recommended to skip a dose for that number. The bloodshot eye is not related. :)

I agree with ****. An INR of 4.9 is no big deal, but since you have been steadily trending up, you may need to take a lower dose on one day only (1/2 dose works for me), and discuss with your doc. My veggie intake is pretty steady....love my small portions of Broc or spinach leaves a few times a...

Wow ! Thanks so much for all the B-Day wishes. The weather turned very cold for the past few nights and so our little local restaurant closed early for the winter.....no Birthday treat of Poutine..... Fortunately my hubby bought me a Cheesecake and we will go for lunch another day :)

Hey Michelle, I hear you with your voice issues. ;) When i got home post op my voice was just a whisper, it was so scary, but people assured me that it would come back. The weakness and helpless feelings were awful. Hang in there !!
