    Regarding afib

yes I'm on warfarin for an On-X aorta valve. I only keep a chart when I have them to inform the doctor then next time I see him. You should have him call his doctor if you're still concerned.

    Regarding afib

That also happened to me having an Afib on my first day home. I called the doctor's office and the cardiac nurse said I was on Metoprolol and Amiodarone for 30 days just for that. They reminded me my heart is still healing from surgery. Now If I have a SVT, I'll use my Samsung ECK and then...

Longest period known before aortic valve replacement needed

About age 30-34 one doctor heard a murmur, I declined for follow-up to keep it off my charts. At age 50, asked for an echo/stress test because of family history and the murmur (that no other doctor had heard). My bicuspid valve was diagnosed, with mild to moderate stenosis, was told to follow-up...

15-Week Post-Op Echo and Life Update

@3mm I really like my coumadin clinic and how it operates. I don't want to be tied calling in or reporting weekly, then worrying about how many strips I mess up. LOL It's really only a personal choice, the Medicare program works great for many people and if I didn't like my clinic, I would use...

15-Week Post-Op Echo and Life Update

My coumadin clinic have me going in every 4 weeks for lab draws. I bought a meter off ebay and test weekly. My clinic is aware of my meter and will let me go 4-6 weeks (8 if we're traveling). They make the adjustments to my dosage, but I do make minor adjustments, if needed, without their...

"So basically I'm not sure, and I'm suspicious that they also aren't sure based on the same things" @pellicle Sounds like more studying is needed for us to get a good answer. Thank you, Pellicle!

Is an aneurysm common for people with a bicuspid valve?

@Jeff Lebowski Like you I had an aneurysm was 4.1 cm and I asked the surgeon to fix it during my BAV surgery (Dec. 2020) with On-X. He said he would decide during surgery. He did not make the repair, I was so sad when I was told it wasn't fixed. He said it was very "healthy" looking and...

    Fruits

I'm the same Chuck... "I'll have some weeks in which I eat them daily and some weeks where I don't eat any at all. I've never noticed any effect on my INR. If it is moving things, I don't think by much."

    Hunky Dory

I had side effects with statins, I tried them all and couldn't tolerate them (severe muscle pain). A few years later, I couldn't say no anymore. I happened to see another GP in the office and he said to try CoQ10 along with my Crestor. I take 200mg daily. It has worked magic on me and no more...
