    Staying the Course -- 06/10/2019

SB, hope all your pre-op stuff gets sorted out and they go well for you. Just returned from our yearly hiking trip to the Sierras in Northern California. We went to Mammoth Lakes again. They're going to have skiing into August this year! We didn't go to the ski resorts but went hiking locally...

    Staying the Course -- 05/07/2019

Busy and not walking as much as I should. Last Friday I saw my cardiologist for my yearly check. The visit didn't last long but he said my valve sounded good. He is ordering an echo because I'm tired a lot and have a little shortness of breath when walking up stairs. I hope it's just that I'm...

    Staying the Course -- 04/24/2019

SB, sorry to hear about your bad news. It sounds like you have very good doctors so hope that keeps your anxiety low. Ran a 5K race today, the Run Thru the Vineyards. Tough race and I just returned Thursday night from a European Vacation (first time there). Can't blame Jetlag for running 1:03...

    Staying the Course -- 04/08/2019

I don't remember the day but earlier in the week I tried to log into the site and it was down. Maybe it was last weekend. I didn't think much about it but then found out about the change. Glad Hank found someone to take this site over. Thanks Hank (if you're reading this)!!! Another low exercise...

    Low ef function

Just saw this. My ef has been 47 since surgery 6 1/2 years ago. Don't know if you consider that low but it's lower than the normal range. I don't notice it except I think it affects my ability to run well.

Mick Jagger might be a member of this forum soon ...

I saw that headline today but the article didn't say which valve he's having replaced. I'm sure that will eventually leak out. Wish him well.

    Staying the Course -- 04/01/2019

Checking in on this beautiful April Fool's Day. I've been lazy lately and not walking as much as I need to. I can tell a difference in my cardio. Got a blister last week because I walked 2 miles at work with my dress shoes. I need to take my running shoes to work. Weight is still staying the...

    Staying the Course -- 03/18/2019

Nothing new to report here. Rain stopped for a few days but is returning. Received a call from my Cardiologist office reminding me to make my yearly appointment so will do that tomorrow. I've been experiencing some slight shortness of breath lately. I hope it's because of my lack of running and...

    I almost missed it! ! !

Congratulations Steve. Glad to hear the valve is working well after 8 years. Hope you get many more years out of it. Martin

Pellicle, I agree with you, the lack of communication on the future of this site is not good for the health of the site. It seams like there are fewer posts lately. Unfortunately the site future doesn't look good to me.

    Staying the Course -- 03/04/19

Nothing new to report here in So Cal. Still lots of rain and more forecast next week. I haven't done any walking since Sunday. Tomorrow is a walk from San Juan Capistrano down toward the beach. SB, those are some tough questions to answer. Only doing a couple. Will religion ever become obsolete...

Staying the Course...til we meet again....

SB, hope to keep this going here but realistically it must be a group effort. I don't post every week, too tired after my 12 hour work/commute days. I set a goal of only 2 miles a day of walking and/or running and I'm already behind. And I can't blame it on the rain even though I would like to...

    Staying the Course -- 02-11-2019

It's been a rough week here in So Cal with all the rain. One day we had flood warnings. On Thursday the street outside our work was half covered in water and our parking lot entrance was a river. I heard later that a drain was plugged and they had to use a pump to dump the water into the parking...

    Staying the Course -- 02-04-2019

It's Thursday night and thought I would check in. Weather here in So Cal has been rain and cold (for us). I had frost on my windshield the past two mornings. Rain has cut into my walks but I'll get back on track over the weekend. I'm only 2 miles behind my goal. Weight hit 179 one morning but...

    Staying the Course, 2019!

Looks like everyone is busy this year. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm trying to walk 750 miles this year which works out to about 2 miles per day. That's not a lot but if you miss a day you need to do more another day. Last week we had rain and I only walked on the weekend. So my mileage is...

    Staying the Course, 2019!

SB, thanks for the update. Hope your DW makes a full recovery and that you are able to take care of her during recovery. And take care of yourself too. No news here. Survived the holidays without weight gain. Walking normal miles. Should get 15 miles in this week (count week Monday thru Sunday)...

    Staying the Course 12-18-2018

Merry Christmas all! SB, praying for you DW and your family. Steve, it's easy to run in the winter here in CA. I used to run in the winter when I lived in Michigan but not daily. My knees are still ok to run after 40+ years of running but I do feel them going up stairs occasionally. I ran dirt...

    Staying the Course 12-18-2018

Starting this off a week before Christmas. Everyone must be shopping except us men who always wait until the 24th. This past week I started to run a little. I'm feeling better with work stress decreasing. A couple repeats of running a couple hundred yards and then walking. I have a 5K race in...

    New Milestone

Wow Jack. I never counted my races but it's not even close to 500. That's awesome. And walking part of the race is OK because a race is about just getting to the finish.

    Staying the Course -- 12-10-2018

I've been delinquent lately, too busy. Maintained my weight through Thanksgiving. The next challenge is Christmas! This past week I passed the 500 mile mark for the year in my walk/run log. I need to do more than that next year. SB, I would loan my dog to you if I could. She's nocturnal...
