Hi all,
Pellicle, while I was on the topic of frustrating docs, and you had asked me about Cleveland Clinic, I was relating two experiences with doctors they assigned to me in 2016.
Thanks, jlcsn2015. I'll be finding my way, for sure.
Iggy, I'm so sorry! Just ten months later to be looking...
I agree and think it unlikely that the aneurysm shrank. I can understand them wanting to keep a closer eye now. And different surgeons may view your threshhold for surgery differently. Because of my body type, I had surgery at 4.9/5.0. Best to you!
Thanks, guys!
My PC went belly up, so haven't spent much time here. Can set up refurb tonight. No new progress on cardio & gastro issues except to research specialists who are in-network. Need to organize stacks of med. records & prepare questions and histories and schedule appts. Urgh...
I agree with Astro. If you're having tons of palpitations, they might want to check and be sure they are the innocuous kind. I've done a 24-hour Holter test a few times.
Purely anecdotal re: my own experience ... My "math" brain left the building for weeks. It was quite disconcerting. I'm more of a word person anyhow, but simple math operations and other numbers-oriented things left me befuddled for awhile. I was cognizant of the deficit. Gratefully, things...
Hi Caroline,
I'm so sorry about your sweet Dixie. It can sure take some time to get that kind of grief processed. I'm smiling to read of your enjoying Zoey and I'm so glad you have her! Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Alis,
I don't have research on that at the moment. But I can share that they first alerted me about my aorta when it was, I believe 4.1 cm in 2009. Mine grew to 4.9+ by 2016 when I had surgery.
Hi Jenn,
I'm glad you found your way here.
I'm unfortunately a high anxiety person, and I can certainly relate. One of the heart nurses told me flat out that everyone is terrified of heart surgery. Perhaps some here were able to rise above that, but it helped me for her to tell me it's...
Thanks, you all. It helps to get your reactions. I actually drove an hour to see him. Believe it or not, he has a phenomenal reputation in this area.
I really miss the cardiologist I had up north for many years. Since moving to Texas I've already fled the "care" of two other cardiologists...
Paleowoman, it sounds like you educate yourself extremely well about any afflictions you suffer. And it's a feat that you held your ground about not taking the PPIs--physicians seem very enamored of that class of drug. Plus, it's wonderful that you sought and received the antibiotic cure for the...
That article on calcification, etc., goes deep. The interrelated aspects that contribute to the disease appear verrrrrry complex! And clearly it's above my pay grade, to comprehend, without taking a good deal of time to parse out the terms and dissect the sentences. :) But it looks like a great...
Just read your story, Bradley. It's awesome that you're recovering well, that your heart is coming right along, and that you easily achieved and maintain target INR. Though I'm sure it's been stressful, this is a terrific report!
Pellicle, thank you for your observations and the link. I'll try to review that article more fully in a bit, and some of the citations look interesting, as well. In my mind, the topical approach used to sound safer for gastric tissues. Your article implies that they *should* be and mentions...
Sure sounds like your time is all blocked out between now and your surgery. That day full of appointments will be a heaping helping! I hope all goes extremely smoothly for you, Brynn.
