    Echo at two-year anniversary

Sorry George if I got this a bit off topic but I learned a lot here also. Pellicle, I have no cancers (at this time) but have had biopsies from other issues I have. My first valve, porcine, was followed with twice a year check ups, including echos BUT it also was done 3 months before I was...

    Echo at two-year anniversary

Wow, good deal! Maybe I can skip a few of those I have been getting as most are the same results each time.

Just the ending I like to see. The body, and heart especially, are truly amazing. Good to hear.

    Staying the Course -- 07/09/2018

Hi guys! Good to see you post. I am kind of like HB on offering much help as I do not know those drugs. Good thing to stay with the professionals and get ironed out. I had a bone marrow biopsy in doctor's office not long ago but mine was done through the back and down into the hip bone. I...

    Echo at two-year anniversary

I haven't seen a surgeon more than once after each of my valve replacements. The surgeons referred me to a cardiologist. Both cardiologists I have had requested echos done twice a year. I think they all may use different protocols.

    Help!!!

Yes, good advice above. OH and BTW I had two valve replacements and both were over a million. My first in 2012, I had zero dollars out of pocket. Second in 2016, had 7,000.00 out of pocket and lot of miles, hotels, and other expenses. Premiums are 3,000.00 per month now and they would like...

Re-op has anyone home from mech to tissue

Harriet, My heart pressures and stomach pressures they found were very high(imagine that after over 50 years of stenosed valve). Everything started flowing again and almost too much. If pressures are high the body tries to make other paths to keep pushing blood through. I ended up with...

Re-op has anyone home from mech to tissue

Hi Harriet, I have have been down road similar to yours but will try to stick with the heart valve as it has been pointed out before to others that posts should pertain to the heart valve. Porcine replacement valve, 2012 (rheumatic fever as child) and the bleeding began shortly thereafter...

    Staying the Course -- 06/11/2018

Hello and good afternoon. Weather here has shifted from hot to cool starting yesterday. Feels like the start of spring to me and anything goes. In a couple weeks it will start the heat and therefore mosquitoes. What an annoyance those darn bugs are for outside work and fun. I shall wear the...

Nice to see the coursers checking in and full of news. Pretty quiet here at this time also. Just the way I like it. My numbers are all holding steady and slowly my INR is coming down to my new therapeutic numbers. I was surprised when my hospitalist at my last stay was able to take my ON-X...

Superbob, thanks for the ideas and links for home exercising (sounds like you got a great workout without going online to find it) Please be careful out in that sun. One of my friends took her husband in and they had to remove half his ear to get all the cancer off. I know.......we just tend...

Superbob it looks like a quiet day here on the forum. I am sure others will be along as soon as all the "festivities" of this weekend are past. Do tell about what you found for home exercise. Videos? YouTube? I am very interested as going to any type of class is not on my to do list. I am...

Awweee......you guys are very inspiring. Your goals help keep others going. I never got to rehab after either of my heart surgeries so have been hoping for something like that to get me started after I am healed from my surgery. It is so good to feel good finally and looking to days ahead...

New to forum from Northern Nevada

Had my first one done 2012 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas (air lifted from small AZ hospital) Probably the best care I have ever had but sadly the valve only lasted a little over four years (porcine) We ended up in MT and was evaluated by team in Billings and they would have done it had I...
