    I get check ups every six months and an echo done to make sure everything is fine. They have to do an extra echo for my Mitral Valve that has calcified due to age.

    And you did say only for merchanical valves. Warfarin is used to control blood clots. And to prevent clot events. it just is not 100% preventable but it helps.
