By going to the lab when the doctor orders it. And it will show on the protime blood draw. And Naproxen can cause bad bleeds. There is nothing we can take that will be safer. But I have been a heart patient since birth and since 2001, have used warfarin and one time did use naproxen, but no...

    Best mechanical valve?

I am able to take NSAIDS. But you have be monitored more carefully when you are on them on a daily basis. I can only take Tylenol and only when there is pain. I have to talk to my doctor soon about the neuropathy pain. Can't just take anything. Yuck. Keep hanging in there.

I have mine done at a lab that is handled by a doctor on site. Have been happy with the set up. Not sure of trying to do it at home. Diabetes can hamper the mind at times. But good for you. Keep hanging in there.

    Warfarin Protocol Initiated!

Yeah, I go to a reliable lab, that is located where people also have cancer treatment. Been doing great. they use the same home devices as many here do. and when I am having issues, we catch while I am there and dose accordingly and the return trip. Heparin throws you a monkey wrench and takes...

Did I sell out? Not exactly

That is dangerous, for you need either a good lab to go to, or a home meter. Doing without anything is a danger to you cause you cannot dose with a meter.

    Ross vs Mechanical

Arnold is not a story of failure, for sure he had two repairs and a then a valve replacement of the aortic valve. You got the message mixed up, for getting a mechanic valve and warfarin is not a failure at all. And women have had children while on warfarin. I do not know where you are getting...

Thought I was done with CardioNet

That is the life of USA health care. Very wasteful and hard on others. Good luck in getting destressed from this.

My surgery was cancelled 3 days before I was to enter the hospital.

I had my false start before my second surgery to replace the aortic valve. My right and left legs had a little internal infection going, and a slight fever with it. They decided to wait three weeks before trying again. It is better for a wait.

    Backwards trend in Echo Measurements

You are so lucky that two are on the same page. Annual imaging helps to catch anything that changes within a year. It caught my mitral valve calcification three years ago. And my cardio trips are two a year. So it is easier when they just monitor the heart and stuff. Life is easier then. Have a...
