    Weight loss surprised me as well as the other heart patient I was being shipped around with. Body mass was gone , skin just hung off of both of us. Neither of us could eat much the first week but that was not the cause.

    Interesting differences in rehab timing, we started day 6 with daily1/2h stationary bike and breathing exercises, week 2 group walking outside and various movement exercises.

    Yup,"Stationary bike should be ok,..." And walk hard until the 12th week. I am in week 20 and I am still getting surprises in terms of exercise performance improvements over pre op , even years before pre op

    Hi Angle Welcome! I had an Aortic valve replacement this past Feb. I biked a lot and I felt I had no symptoms and thought I was doing just fine but the numbers were bad so I had the operation. Three months later I was amazed at my bike performance improvement, I feel like I have been hot-rodded!

    Bravo, thats impressive!!. I love beef, pork and lamb but ethical issues have started to concern me which makes it easier to back off for the cholesterol reasons . So I guess we both have "Lean Diabetes"?
