    Starting gym

    "my muscles are gone" When I looked in the mirror after the operation, I had the impression my upper body and arm muscles had evaporated. At about 8 months they started to return. I have kept up my activity. The heart feels great, my knees are having a hard time keeping up!

    Assuming you are not smoking all day long, I wouldn't worry about it . I stopped drinking 25 years ago. A toke now and then in the evenings takes the edge off.

    Hi my valve,re SOB , do you think it is the heart or something else? Do you have any other issues , weight etc? Are you managing to get exercise?What would you describe SOB as? breathing heavily through the mouth? Can't catch your breath after exertion?

    Hi Mike I got my AV 8 months ago and feel great now. 12 days! your flesh wound has just healed? I had AF too. Take it easy, it takes the heart a little while to figure out how to adapt to using the bigger valve, get the rhythm right etc. My heart rate would drop too, I would look at my watch...

    After my open heart surgery

    How do you feel now? I could hardly eat the first week . My throat was too sore and I had no appetite. Pain control was tough the first two weeks. Heart rate would drop to 32 which was unnerving but no pain in the head or any other part of the body
