    CryoLife On-X INR Claims

As some of you may recall, I had a On-X valve installed in the aortic position back in February, and passed the 10 week mark this past Friday. All is going well and I'm very happy with the result and performance to-date. Today I received a brief letter from CryoLife regarding the "FDA Approved...

    Imminent AVR - 40 y.o. female - advice please

It also helps to take Potassium supplements to boost the level back to normal quicker. That's what I've been doing since surgery. Metoprolol, I agree is just bad all around. Causes more problems than it solves, at least for me.

    Imminent AVR - 40 y.o. female - advice please

Hello Amy. The location sounds like its right at the end of your rib cage? Is it near where the drain tubes were? It could be nerves still healing. Any pain, swelling, redness, tenderness, etc.? How is your BP and HR? You really should find a new cardiologist and make a appointment for this and...

    Inspiria Resilia

Been discussed already many times. Nope, not for me! My surgeon stated that sure it could last up to 20, but would most likely last 7 for me. But again, it is all forecast. No long term data. Bottom line: your planning on at least 2 more surgeries(total of 3) or planning to be deceased by age...

    Aortic Valve Choices

Agreed. That's what I'm doing. Benefit risk ratio does not favor lower INR.

    Aortic Valve Choices

Sorry my comment may be misunderstood. What I mean is that i can hear it, when in a quiet place, when relaxed and breathing normally, I can hear it slightly. But, it is not like a watch ticking or a treble tone. Has more bass to it.

I can hear mine! But not a ticking noise. Deeper resonance. Especially when inhaling. More like a thrump or thud.

    Tomorrow 's the day

Best of luck! You will do fine. More red wine when you are done!

    Two years later. . . .

Agree with the above. Very subjective. Two potential competing outliers. Need at least another one to help determine which one may be correct.

    Self-monitoring INR from the start

Amy, I agree with Chuck. This person is a lost cause. Find a better one. My PCP on his own, prescribed all 1mg tablets stating that it will be much easier for adjusting doses. I agree that an INR target of 2.5 - 3.0 is probably safest for now. You may as well sign up with one of the INR...

2nd OHS scheduled for April 19th 2021, at 67 yrs

Wow. Great classic bikes and MX5's. The SR was the street version of the XT. Pretty rare. The XS was very popular until the inline three and then fours came out. Depressing to hear that all of the mechanical toys are gone. Hope the knee gets fixed so you can acquire a new fun toy! Take care.

Nice ride on the scooter on some nice roads. I think I still prefer motorcycles or ebikes. That looks a little sketchy in case of emergency avoidance maneuvers! Looked pretty fast too for that thing. What's the range? I have an ebike that goes up to 28mph and in Eco mode can go maybe 60 miles...

Excellent! My smaller copilot (a Bichon) joins me some times too. He loves it. Actually faces forward sitting up, and leans into the turns. Funny to watch.

For those familiar with the famous "Tail of the Dragon", this is me riding there (with my son) in the spring of 2019. Beautiful area.

We sound like twins. I've had motorcycles since the age of 10. Still ride off-road trail, ATV, and street with my Suzuki V-Strom 1000. I also bought a new 2010 MX5 and treat it like my V-Strom. Only goes out on nice days and stays covered with battery tender when not in use. I originally...

    Imminent AVR - 40 y.o. female - advice please

Yeah, I believe it's nerve disturbance from the surgery (thru small opening) and the drain tubes. Takes time for healing. Movement, stretching and massage helps.

So, what is your target range? Mine is as stated above (2.0 to 3.0). Is yours different?

I've crossed the line into severe and need to make a decision

Yep exactly! When I inhale deeply, it produces a deeper louder thub, thub, etc..

I've crossed the line into severe and need to make a decision

I sought out Roselli, but he was booked until after June and given my gradients, 82 mean and 129 peak, he said I shouldn't wait. He recommended Dr. Aaron Weiss, who will be the lead, but Roselli will be in the OR for some of the procedure. When was your procedure? INR has not been an issue...
