    Migraine

Me again. I just finished reading your blog post (didn't have time earlier as I was just online killing the last few minutes of my workweek). The photos are wonderful.

Awake On The Vent For 17 Hours (Photo)

Yep, 17 hours awake + vent = king. I agree with Pellicle - I don't want to compete. It must have been pure willpower that kept you flat for 17 hours with that tube in....well, maybe the drugs helped, hmm? I hope things are going well now that you're home.

    Migraine

LOL, Pell, I guess not eating corned beef isn't the worst possible thing that could happen to me :-) And nope, no headaches after a wee dram of Jameson's. I <3 Jameson's. Lovely picture. I do so want to visit. My great-great grandpa emigrated to the southern U.S. from Northern Ireland...

    Migraine

That was interesting reading. I get migraines occasionaly. I am one of those women that got my first migraine when I entered perimenopause. I was so scared the first time it happened; I thought I was having a stroke! I have learned to stay away from extremely salty and/or highly processed...

    Food diary.....do you use one?

I like your humor. That's a lot of spinach! I eat 2 or 3 times a week but no way I'm eating a pound at one sitting just to test out a theory :-) Cheese. Give me cheese.

    Post-Op question

I did not have oxygen and I slept in my bed from the very first night home. I am a side sleeper and my husband put a ton of pillows at my back to help support me and one between my knees, just like the nurses did in the hospital. Turning over was bothersome, mainly because of all the pillows...

What is the one thing you couldn't live without during post-surgery recovery?

LOL..I forgot about the popsicles! They brought me popsicles several times because I pretty much refused all food. Those popsicles felt so good on my throat!!!

I am so happy to be shoveling snow again...

It's an awesome feeling to be able to participate in the everyday/mundane! I remember how happy I was to mow the grass for the first time after my surgery. It was somewehere around 2 or 3 months post-op on a riding mower but I was so ridiculously happy to do it :)

    Surgery on Friday

So nice to see your post! I'm glad you are home, Shan. Your appetitie will come back pretty soon. Take plenty of naps and post when you can.

How many would say that you're in the best shape of your life?

I feel that is true, Paleogirl. or at least it was for me. I mostly slept in the months leadng up to my surgey, as I had no stamina for much of anything. I would get up in the morning and go to my desk job, go to the sofa as soon as I got home, and pretty much stay there until I went to bed very...

    Surgery Timing?

Hi, Soccer Girl, and welcome. I was banned from exercise before my first surgery because my AS was considered critical. I waited too long to have my surgery - my valve area was .5cm2. You ask for our thoughts on your numbers and in my non-expert opinion, it sounds like it probably time for...

    Surgery Timing?

Hi, Debi. It's frustrating, isn't it? I had my annual appointment with my cardiologist this past Nov. and my doc referred me to a surgeon for a second opinion about timing. He thought we should we wait a bit so he made a referral for me to get the opinion straight from the one that will crack...

    Confusing appointment today

Thanks, Bryan. I do hope the new aortic valve will resolve the leaks in the mitral and tricuspid valves, also. It's one of my questions for the surgeon. It seems reasonable that they will stop leaking once the other issues are fixed. Honestly, the more I read, the more I know that I need to...

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday ... 11-21-14

Will do all three! I am going to weigh myself on Mon. To see if I've lost anything. I was shocked when I went to the doctor this past Mon. to see I'v gained 10 pounds this past year!
