Has anyone here gotten post cardiac injury syndrome?

The colchicine hasn't caused me any problems. The steroids I hared. I couldn't sleep and felt off all the time. However not sure which drug it was but my effusions have gone away and I'm pretty much back to normal. Ive been off the steroids for about a week and a half now. And I still have 2...

Has anyone here gotten post cardiac injury syndrome?

I do wish the doctors would have warned me about the Prednisone because I probably would have opted to stay with just the colchicine

Has anyone here gotten post cardiac injury syndrome?

I've been on the colchicine for about 3 weeks now. And the Prednisone for a week my pain is completely gone or atleast barely there at times. I did have the symptoms for about 3 weeks prior. The doctors thought I had a viral infection or something and I was only on ibuprofen. I'm also on...

Has anyone here gotten post cardiac injury syndrome?

I should only be on it for 2 more weeks. I've used it in the pass for allergic reactions and haven't had any adverse affects.

Has anyone here gotten post cardiac injury syndrome?

I'm currently on colchicine and Prednisone. I had small pleural effusions and a medium sized pericardial effusion. They seem to be going down in the last few weeks though. The Prednisone definitely works but I do hope it's not recurrent. I do think there's a good chance I gave myself the...

Has anyone here gotten post cardiac injury syndrome?

I eventually ended up going back to the hospital to see if there was anything else I could do. My pharmacist friend recommended I try steroids and I asked them about that. I've been on Prednisone for a few days now and its been working wonders no more pain in my shoulders or lungs. Hopefully...

Has anyone here gotten post cardiac injury syndrome?

How long did it take you to recover from it? And when did it start. I'm about 3 months after surgery. My lungs hurt pretty bad and my muscles in my shoulders and neck have been very sore. I'm a bit tachy but the doctors don't seem super concerned about it.

    Cold all the time.

Just an update for those of you who may be reading this later. The being cold all the time has passed and the night sweats seem to be getting better.

    Cold all the time.

Luckily my experience was pretty good. Hospitals and medical staff are very hot or miss here though. Luckily my inr was 2.5 when I left and I have a home nurse coming twice a week to measure it. And as far as getting out in 3/4 days they asked if I felt comfortable to go home. If not I could...

    Cold all the time.

Yeah definitely will do. Honestly it's crazy that although I'm sore. My heart itself feels better than it did last week. Doesn't feel like it's freaking out all the time now.

    Cold all the time.

Okay they sent me home pretty early mostly because I've had no problems being mobile. Walkings been good. Even took a walk around my block this morning. But I'll keep monitoring my vitals just in case. I'm sure the 7 new meds they gave me don't help my body be less confused 😂

    Cold all the time.

Really it's anytime I sleep. Even if I take a nap.

    Cold all the time.

I've been sweating a lot at night. I think it might be from the tylonal though.

    Cold all the time.

Hello. I had a mechanical avr done on Friday and I've been cold ever since. I was released from the hospital yesterday which was great. My vitals have been normal and I feel relatively okay. Obviously I'm very sore and tired. Has anyone else experienced this? Not sure if it's the medicine or...

    Ross vs Mechanical

I hope your surgery goes well or went well. Just took my first walk today. Definitely sore but glad it's over with.

    Ross vs Mechanical

Awesome. Good to know. My Dr seems pretty happy with the results from them and their studies. But I'll try my best not to get food poisoning 😉

    Ross vs Mechanical

Spoke with the surgeon again today. My surgery is Friday morning. CT scan came back and it looks like my roots should be intact. He'll get a better view inside but, we determined I'm going to be getting the on-x valve. He said he's done them before and likes their results and although I may not...

    Ross vs Mechanical

I'm not either so I'm not sure. He made it seem like the homograft has more tissue attached so they have more to work with vice a mechanical with the synthetic tissue tubing.

    Ross vs Mechanical

Spoke with my surgeon today. We both came to the conclusion that the Ross procedure may not be the best option. Mainly due to the two valve problem But we are still undecided on homograft vs mechanical. I asked him what he'd do in my shoes and he didn't have an answer. He's going to do some...

    Ross vs Mechanical

Thank you for this information. I do find that wild that people wouldn't take their medication serious. But it does make me feel better to know. I would definitely be resting at home. And ensuring my medication is taken properly.
