Does Vitamin K2 interfere with Coumadin or affect INR?

For me, there was little (if any) change when I started taking vitamin K2 several years ago. My INR is pretty stable.

    NEWBIE: Needs advice

@W84Me I'd like to offer a little of my experience of living alone during the recovery after surgery, in the hope that it may reassure you that it is less of a problem than you might think. Admittedly I had the advantage of a supportive employer, who paid my full salary the whole time and going...

    Looking for pacemaker info

It is! I posted my experience of a replacement due to end-of-life last October here, and didn't even have to stop taking Warfarin!

INR difference between lab and my Coagucheck

I am with the general view, that I tend to trust my CoaguChek more, for the reasons given by @jeffp

    NEWBIE: Needs advice

Welcome W84Me - I agree, lots of useful info on this forum, and I wish you well with your decision. A couple of points from me: I had my mechanical valve inserted in 2013, at the age of 48. I have had no regrets, and do not find the Warfarin management difficult, though there is a learning...

    One year with mechanical valve

That's what I do too. No room for other factors to get in the way of a good comparison then.

    One year with mechanical valve

I'm another advocate for continuing to test weekly. My INR is usually pretty stable, with no need for dose changes. However, a significant drop in INR is often the first sign I am getting a cold etc and needs a dose change. Also, my INR was drifting high for a couple of weeks, and at first I...

    Looking for pacemaker info

I have had a pacemaker for 9 years now - in fact now on my second one. The advice to use a sling in the first few weeks after surgery was dropped some years ago, as the restriction in movement can result in frozen shoulder. You may want to check out Pacemakerclub.com - there are lots of other...

    Warfarin and holiday

I also find my INR goes up on holiday, and I put it down to a combination of more alcohol (but moderate levels, not drunken) and the change of diet. Using my CoaguChek to monitor INR level means I don't worry about it - just adjust the dose accordingly, and test every few days instead of my...

Are stool softeners normally given after surgery?

This thread appears to have had it's own constipation for a few years ... glad to see it is flowing again ....

    Newly Diagnosed- Bodybuilding and Exertion

"Level 1 heart block" is an electrical problem with the heart, ie it is not beating correctly. Level 1 is the low end, level 3 is high. It means that your heart may beat too slowly, probably only occasionally currently, which could cause you to faint at some point. I got a pacemaker in 2014 due...

Once benign post-surgery AV block has now gone bad

Another pacemaker dependent valver here - had mine inserted a week after the mechanical valve, and it was four months or so before I even thought about what do I need to know about pacemakers. The original lasted 8 years of 100% pacing, and a replacement was inserted last October and is expected...

How do you prevent endocarditis and blood infections?

Personally, I have not changed how I treat cuts, how I use a toothbrush or razor since getting a replacement heart valve. For minor cuts this may well mean no ointment of any description applied. I change my toothbrush every 3 months, and I prefer my alcohol in a glass.

How do you prevent endocarditis and blood infections?

All sounds good, Daniel. I was advised to have my teeth cleaned quarterly. Otherwise no other particular measures taken.

    Coumadin 5mg availability in Australia

Just as Perrier, Evian and Dasani are all water with slight differences in mineral content, Coumadin, Marevan and others are all warfarin, with slight differences in the bulking agent.

    Supplements, Diet and Warfarin

I was interested in NMN, as the benefits sound promising. So I started looking into it, but haven't found what looks like a reputable review site, only the reviews on seller sites. Those on Amazon appear to be mostly made by people who have only reviewed one product, ie the NMN one, which makes...

How Much of a Liability Am I?

I'm not sure what country you are in, @mlewis30, but in the UK such questions would be handled by restrictions on your driving licence. I am an insulin dependent diabetic, and so my licence has to be renewed every 3 years with enquiries made of my doctor to confirm I am not going to have a hypo...
