Ha! Live life. Stenosis is stenosis...keep your bp in range and all you may have to do is monitor it. Things you can't fix, why worry about them?

    One year in Iowa, USA

I have plenty of PVCs especially when stressed and with coffee but never considered ablation. They are annoying especially with a mechanical valve because you hear them but I am sure they have been with me for years. Best wishes.

    Yet Another Colonoscopy Question

There is nothing like a colonoscopy without removing polyps. They go in, they see stuff and if there is stuff, it's gotta be removed. I think the question is, and I don't have the answer, if you stop Warfarin and drop your INR slowly to say 1.4 have your procedure and restart Warfarin after...

    Mechanical Aortic Valve Gradients

Usually 5 minute echo? Are you talking EKG/ECG but that's only electrical. My echos take almost 30 minutes. How someone does a 1 minute echo? I guess they just narrow it down to the valve and ignore the rest of the heart.

7 days post op and home.

Use that devils device to breathe....blow that stupid ball as high as you can and hold that chest pillow tight for the cough it will trigger...your bones will rattle but no pneumonia

    Blood Pressure Differences Between Arms

When I test my blood pressure at home. I see a difference in readings between arms. When I went for my annual echo I asked for a reading from both arms and they were almost identical so is it equipment or there is a real difference?

INR - How low should you go?

Some questions should be on a pile of ridiculous questions - yes I said it. You can tell us you have maintained your On-X INR at 1.0 for 5 years and still going with a baby Aspirin once a month...SO WHAT? Do whatever pleases you. Experiment...How low can you go? As low as you want and for as...

What areas should i research more?

Don't get into the weeds. The most important thing is a cardiologist you click with. A doctor who understands what is important to you to help you navigate post surgery world. Things you cannot control, let them be. If your surgeon is an OnX or St Jude, let them pick the valve. Let them work...

How much warfarin do you take to get to an inr of 2.5 to 3.5?

Work with a % of YOUR weekly dose. I don't know why you would want a rapid increase but adding 10% of your weekly dose to a should bump you up. If you are on 5mg (5*7 =35mg) so adding 2.5mg to 2 days (easier to break a pill)should raise your number and test again at week end.

The therapeutic benefits of Taylor Swift...

Ha! It is liberal arts and sciences. If your degree is a BA or BS you have a liberal arts and sciences degree. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Sociology, Economics, Literature... If you have B.Eng...then you are a technical person. Now to show the confusion someone getting a...

The therapeutic benefits of Taylor Swift...

Americans use it in the same sense as when you say sprinkle salt liberally on the steak...meaning easy going on morals, spending, open border...basically everything goes. It is an insult. The opposite of that Americans call conservative which in America means principled, grounded in some...

    Imminent re-operation of heart valve

You would rather go through what you are going through because Warfarin is...? If you have 2 open heart surgeries, you will be lucky not to develop a branch block or afib and end up on warfarin. Talk to your doctors and do not let that 12-20 years bio valve story move you too much, you don't...

Mechanical valves ... but what about the ticking?

Do tell if mama has a smile or frown on her face if you have experienced these benefits.

How much to wait to get the surgery?

110bpm is tachycardia and the most common is afib. Most usually resolve without much intervention...a good nap will do if you can manage it...valsava maneuvers sometimes work.

Mechanical valves ... but what about the ticking?

Bad hearing is truly something else. You WILL hear your heart valves if you want to hear it. Others...well it depends on their hearing and the room. If you hold a mechanical watch to your ear, you hear it. Your mechanical valve is louder than that and you hear it like in the back of your...

How much to wait to get the surgery?

Many people experience their first post surgical afib in the first few weeks...it is a scary but normal thing so long as you are in range, relax and maybe add an extra dose of metoprolol (I love those pills).
