Sorry to hear about your bout with the infection, they can definitely be nasty. Sounds like your stress from work isn't helping either. I hope you can kick the infections butt soon. :) Best wishes!

    Followup with the surgeon today

Congrats on the all clear! I got mine from my surgeon today, 5 weeks out from my TVR and PM implant. I can go back to work as well, I fix computers so not a lot of heavy lifting anyhow and I have been working from home since the first 3 weeks post op. Doing good only issue I have is getting used...

    Pacemaker sidelines cheerleader

I would say as long as the doctor released her and said it was ok. The PM would closely monitor her and kick in if needed, If she is not paced at 100% of the time. Probably less chance of her having a heart issue then one of the other kids without a PM.

    Help!!!

Also you may want to go to an ER or Doctor because usually if you haven't had one in awhile say 5 years they will recommend a tetanus shot.

Is this usual, or am I just "unique"?

It seemed after my OHS besides the normal incisions I had some other bruises and scars or knicks. Not exactly sure what they do after they put you to sleep but it looked like they poke and prodded me all over. :)

minimally invasive versus sternectomy for MV repair for bileaflet prolapse

The groin pain where they put me on the bypass machine felt bruised inside. Some of it might be because of the location as it was right in the crease by the pubic area near my leg so a lot of movement each time I got up. Also the pain (bruised feeling) seemed to go up my pelvic area. Not sure...

minimally invasive versus sternectomy for MV repair for bileaflet prolapse

I had the minimally invasive for my tricuspid valve replacement. I had the same thing first doctor said that he wouldn't do minimally invasive because if there was complications he would have to crack my chest anyhow. I went and got a second opinion from a more experienced surgeon and he said he...

    Lasix/fluids

I would say like everyone else, check with your doc, I am currently on lasix and have no fluid restrictions. You do have to make sure you do not dehydrate though which can lead to low BP if you are on other meds.

    Welp...I'm new and me too.

I am 45 and had the porcine valve, I guess for me because I didn't have a choice it was easier. My doctor recommended only a tissue valve in the tricuspid position. I think I would have went with the tissue anyways because I ride motorcycles and do alot of stuff around the house. Although others...
