Any Indian patient here who was bicuspid and have got aneurysm and what size you are following to be operated on? Is there any variation on aneurysm size by asian(Indian)
agreed, and we don't even really have it nailed down by genotype yet either ... as well there is likely to be some overlap (assuming there is clear racial clustering of relevant genotypes).
Several genes and gene variants are associated with aortic aneurysm growth, including:
TGF-β signaling cascade genes: Mutations in these genes, such as FBN1, TGFBR1, TGFBR2, TGFB2, TGFB3, SMAD2, SMAD3, and SKI, are associated with thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA). These conditions are known as TGF-β vasculopathies (TGFβVs).
Smooth muscle contractile apparatus genes: Mutations in these genes, such as ACTA2, MYH11, MYLK, and PRKG1, are associated with TAA. These conditions are known as smooth muscle contraction vasculopathies (SMCVs).
CDKN2BAS gene: Also known as ANRIL, this gene encodes an antisense RNA that regulates the expression of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors.
DAB2IP: This gene encodes an inhibitor of cell growth.
Rs2836411: This non-coding genetic variant is an expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) with ERG and LINC0014 in vascular tissues.
miR-143/145: These miRNAs are downregulated in aneurysms compared to control aorta.
It was quite tricky to paste the References, so I'll just leave this:

I'm Vikas from Delhi. I understand that you're going through a tough time right now. I had the Bentall procedure about a year and a half ago and know how challenging recovery can be. A few other Indian members were here too. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need more info.

Feel free to reach out to me if talking to someone of Indian origin would help. DM me, or ask ANYTHING here. Unfortunately there's not much data or relevance in ethnic-based decision making, but good news is that you have access to just about all of us here who're global BAV relatives We can all help you. We all share mental and emotional aspects alike, and the dilemma you are going thru is very normal and something we all face. Feel free to call me.
