Bicuspid aortic valve diagnosed February 2015
Murmur since childhood.
Valve stenosis became severe (1.0 cm²) 2019, with symptomatic breathlessness.
Aortic valve replaced via mini sternotomy with a 23mm Edwards Inspiris Resilia tissue valve – 7 August 2019 at St Thomas’ Hospital, London.
Ongoing post-op meds: Warfarin* daily from April '24 – INR Target Range: 2 - 3 | Bisoprolol daily from April '24 – 1.25 mg | Atorvastatin daily from August '24 – 20 mg
Current Aortic Valve Area: 1.04 cm² – moderate aortic stenosis.
*Small cerebellar infarcts early December 2023. Reason for current anticoagulation. Cardio-embolic source suspected.
