Lungs are unable to keep up after heart surgery.Symptoms of breathlessness aka respiratory spasms, increased CO2 level in blood i.e. CO2 retention, fluid retention in lungs as evident from x-rays, generation of excessive congestion in lungs. Patient cannot breathe on his own for more than 2 days and needs to be put on Ventilator support
