Dr Roselli at the Cleveland Clinic

Thanks for the reply….appreciate your input! You’re right, according to Roselli’s nurse, it’s a department wide policy now not to do virtual appointments for out of town patients. Not sure why they stopped doing those, but it’s not just Dr Roselli. She did encourage me to submit any questions...

Dr Roselli at the Cleveland Clinic

Thanks, Rob, for your reply and endorsement of Dr R. Makes me feel more at ease going into this surgery again. My cardiologist speaks very highly of him as well. Wishing you all the best!

Dr Roselli at the Cleveland Clinic

Thanks Pellicle, we spent a year in the Land of Aus back in the late 1990s. Worked north of Melbourne and travelled from Hobart to the Daintree in Queensland. Really enjoyed the landscapes, animals and the people. Great memories! Cheers.

Dr Roselli at the Cleveland Clinic

Thanks, Tjay…I saw this earlier as well. I’m no pro NHL goalie (not by a long shot!), but I do like to stay active with cycling, hiking, skiing etc. Sounds like Dr Roselli will take that into consideration at surgery time.

Dr Roselli at the Cleveland Clinic

Hello, I'm scheduled for surgery with Dr Eric Roselli at the Cleveland Clinic on 21 Nov 2024. I'm 65 years old and will probably need an aortic root replacement as well as an aortic bioprosthetic valve replacement. This will be a redo, as my bicuspid valve and ascending aorta were replaced in...

Cleveland Clinic no longer using CE Magna aortic valve replacements?

I know, I found it strange as well. I've emailed Edwards but have not heard back from them yet. Dr Svensson replaced my bicuspid aortic valve 2 years ago with a CE PERIMOUNT 2700, despite the fact I asked specifically for the 3300 Magna for the better hemodynamics. Since then my gradients...

Cleveland Clinic no longer using CE Magna aortic valve replacements?

I just saw Dr Lars Svensson at the CC and he mentioned that they had taken the Edwards Magna and Magna Ease (he called it Magna "plus") aortic valves off the shelves and are no longer using them. He said they did this just recently. I asked if anyone was using them at the CC and he said no...

Weighing hospital outcomes against local convenience

Thanks, Scott...sometimes those logistical arrangements become a real mental challenge for people looking at surgery away from home. I'm glad is worked out so well for you....and others here, from the sounds of it. Thanks again, Grey

Weighing hospital outcomes against local convenience

Just ASK...I tried to post this yesterday, but it doesn't look like it went though. Another question for you (and I think it'll help PEM as well), is what was it like to travel back to Pensacola after your surgery at CCF? How soon did they let you fly, and was the flight a problem for you...

    Some musings at 12 weeks. . .

Thanks, Steve...encouraging to hear you're doing so well, both mentally and physically! It's helpful for us on the pre-surgery side of the mountain. Tim

Norm's Story so far, starting with recovery

Norm...thanks for chronicling your saga is such great detail! As someone who's looking at this surgery soon, June 16, I've read it over carefully. I do have a question...did you find getting back on your bike difficult with regards to your sternum? Did that cause you pain or discomfort...or...

Question about aortic valve replacement/ascending aorta repair

Thanks for your reply, Jason. I'm interested in hearing what your surgeon says about it tomorrow. It does make sense to me to leave that critical native connection between the aorta and the coronary arteries intact, as long as it doesn't mean increased risk down the road. Thanks again, Grey
