Hypertension first detected at 16 years of age. Attributed to "white coat" syndrome. Started BP meds at 35 years of age. Now, at 41, my pulse pressure (and my concern) warranted an echo. Results revealed mild to moderate aortic valve insufficiency; mild mitral regurgitation; and some calcification of edges of 2 out of 3 of the aortic valve leaflets.
