Mitral Valve diagnosed as knackered (leaking) in early 2002. Endocarditis set in after diagnosis but before repair surgery - just caught it in time but valve by then too damaged to be repaired. Mechanical MVR operation followed by 6 weeks + being pumped full of vanc and other heavy duty antibiotics (great way to lose weight but I'd never be able to sell it as a new miracle diet). Acute Heart Failure December 2002; LVEF measured at around 12; Significant left ventricular impairment initially but gradually improving.
Website design, Computer support, Desk Top Publishing, Playing Golf -- normally badly..., consuming consistent (to help steady the rat poison) amounts of real ale and wine.
